Rich crimson sweeps across the canvas as a symbol of passion and determination, acting as an enduring reminder that purpose often emerges through life's greatest challenges. Beneath it, layers of textured black and gold speak to resilience, quiet guidance, grounding and the values that shape us, honouring both the foundations we inherit and the courage to build something new.
Inspired by the simplicity of a Japanese rising sun, the circular form represents renewal. Each day offers another beginning; another opportunity to rise, to grow and to move forward with intention.
Built through heavily layered acrylics, modelling paste and metallic accents, the artwork invites both visual and tactile exploration, revealing new details as light moves across its textured surface.

Love Across Lifetimes was inspired by a conversation with my 98 year old grandmother, who, when asked what she wanted for her 99th birthday, quietly wished for one thing; to see her late husband again.
More than 20 years after his passing, the only jewellery she still wears is her wedding band. Before he passed away, he told her he wanted her to be his wife in three more lifetimes. That promise became the inspiration behind this artwork.
Rather than portraying two people, the piece explores the emotions that remain after a lifetime shared; love, memory, longing and connection. Soft pinks and deep crimson flow together, while metallic gold reflects the immeasurable value of a bond that time cannot diminish. The composition of the work represents the connection that exists between two souls, separated by a lifetime.
This artwork is a reminder that the most meaningful artworks often preserve something that cannot be photographed: a feeling, a memory, or a love that continues long after someone is gone.
Created for a private collector using an excerpt from my life, this bespoke commission demonstrates how contemporary abstract art can preserve personal stories, family history and lasting memories in a deeply individual way.
